I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Oliver Kramer as the next Head of School of The ISF Academy, and Chief Executive Officer of The ISF Pre-School, Independent Schools Foundation and Bauhinia Experiential Learning Limited, effective August 1, 2025.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Dr. Kramer, age 56, is a native of Germany and a fluent Chinese speaker. He received his PhD in Modern Chinese Literature from the University of Edinburgh, and has over 25 years experience in teaching and school leadership. He was a teacher of Chinese, Head of Oriental Studies, and House Master at Eton College in the U.K. for 11 years before moving to China in 2008. Since 2021, he has been Executive Principal of Shanghai Concord Bilingual School.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Dr. Kramer succeeds Dr. Malcolm Pritchard, who will retire at the end of the 2024-25 academic year after 16 years of outstanding leadership. We are indebted to Malcolm for his dedication, wisdom and remarkable energy, and for exemplifying ISF\u2019s bilingual and multicultural mission and values.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

I am excited that Dr. Kramer enthusiastically embraces our core mission and values, and am confident that he will provide excellent leadership to ISF as we enter our third decade with our schools and community stronger than ever.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

We are also pleased to welcome Dr. Kramer\u2019s wife, June (\u66f2\u82f1), a native of Shandong, and their two children to the ISF community.<\/p>

I want to thank the governors, faculty, staff, PTA representatives, parents and students who participated in the rigorous Head of School and Chief Executive Officer search process for their time and valued contributions.<\/p>
